Curriculum
Our Cross-Curricular Workshops
Art & Design
Our sessions always include an element of creativity and we have a large outside space to use for some plein-air painting and other mixed media activities.
We encourage groups to look closely at the exhibitions and draw inspiration from the variety of techniques and subject matter.
Environmental Science
Kurt Jackson has always strived to use his art as a way of getting nature’s voice heard.
Our workshops aim to convey the importance of belonging with nature and our duty to protect it.
Additionally, the upstairs gallery often houses information from relevant conservation charities which is a great way to engage children in environmental issues.
The Written Word
As well as painting, sculpture, installation and film Kurt Jackson writes poems about his observations of nature.
These are a great starting point for learning and can be linked to your literacy curriculum as well as providing a starting point for art and discussion.
