Peter Jackson: A Retrospective

Kurt Jackson
Crab and Lobster

March 30 – April 27 2019.

May 22 – August 17 2019.

Kurt Jackson’s exhibition, Crab and Lobster, the latest of a series of projects focusing on the richness and diversity of the natural world, looks at crustaceans. In focussing at an apparently mundane group of animals Kurt Jackson aims to celebrate their uniqueness; he claims that only by acknowledging and appreciating the ordinary as well as the extraordinary can we then realistically respect and conserve this biodiverse world.

This body of work explores this group of creatures and the fishery through the media of paint, line, print and sculpture. This exhibition will also include work created in response to the raising and rearing of young lobsters for release and relocation that is now an established part of the fishery.
